Lulu Attack EX Premium | What it’s for, how to take it, and safety — explained by a pharmacist

Lulu Attack EX Premium — A pharmacist’s easy guide for sore throat + fever colds

Best for those “it hurts even to swallow” colds. Simple, first-timer friendly explainer.

🧒

Patient
My throat burns and even swallowing saliva hurts. I’ve got a fever and chills too. Is there an OTC option that fits me?
👩‍⚕️

Pharmacist
Lulu Attack EX Premium could be a good match.
It combines ibuprofen and tranexamic acid, so it tackles throat inflammation and fever early.
🧒

Patient
I also have some runny nose and a bit of cough. Will it help beyond the throat pain?
👩‍⚕️

Pharmacist
Yes — it’s a multi-symptom cold medicine. It includes an antihistamine (d-chlorpheniramine) for runny nose and cough suppressants/bronchodilator (dihydrocodeine and dl-methylephedrine).
🧒

Patient
How do I take it? Will it make me drowsy?
👩‍⚕️

Pharmacist
For ages 15+: take 3 tablets per dose, 3 times daily, preferably within 30 minutes after meals.
Drowsiness can occur due to the antihistamine, so avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it.
🧒

Patient
I have a sensitive stomach — anything I should do?
👩‍⚕️

Pharmacist
Be sure to take it after food with water or lukewarm water. If you notice stomach pain, nausea, or black/tarry stools, stop and seek medical advice.
🧒

Patient
When should I go to the clinic instead of continuing OTC?
👩‍⚕️

Pharmacist
If there’s little improvement after 5–6 doses, if fever lasts ≥3 days/keeps rebounding, or you feel short of breath or profoundly fatigued, please see a doctor.

When is Lulu Attack EX Premium recommended?

Sore, swollen throat
Dual anti-inflammatory
Ibuprofen + tranexamic acid focus on throat inflammation.
Fever, chills, headache
Pain/fever relief (ibuprofen). Caffeine supports headache relief.
Runny or stuffy nose
d-Chlorpheniramine eases allergic nasal symptoms.
Cough & phlegm
Dihydrocodeine calms cough; dl-methylephedrine eases the airways.

Note: For relief of common cold symptoms. If your illness isn’t a typical cold (e.g., bacterial infection), benefit may be limited — seek care for severe symptoms.

⚠️ Before you use it — safety checklist

Do NOT:

  • Use if you’re under 15 years old.
  • Use if you’re a pregnant person within 12 weeks of the expected delivery date.
  • Combine with other cold medicines, pain relievers, sedatives, cough/cold combos, or antihistamines, or with other oral medicines containing tranexamic acid.
  • Drive or operate machinery after taking (possible drowsiness).
  • Drink alcohol while taking it, or use it for more than 5 days in a row.
Talk to a professional first if you:

  • Are pregnant / might be pregnant / are an older adult.
  • Have had drug or food allergies.
  • Have high fever or difficulty urinating.
  • Have thyroid disorder, diabetes, glaucoma, SLE/MCTD, bronchial asthma, current or past blood clots, lung disease, obstructive sleep apnea, or obesity.
  • Have a history of stomach/duodenal ulcers, IBD, blood/liver/kidney disease, etc.
  • Are being treated with zidovudine (or other medicines your clinician is concerned about).
Possible side effects: constipation, dry mouth, drowsiness, etc.
Serious signs — stop and seek care: rash/hives, wheeze or shortness of breath, severe stomach pain or black stools, unusual bleeding, extreme sleepiness or confusion.

🤰 Pregnancy & breastfeeding

  • Do not use if you are within 12 weeks of your expected delivery date.
  • If pregnant (especially early or late pregnancy) or potentially pregnant, don’t self-medicate — consult a clinician first.
  • If breastfeeding: either avoid use, or if you must take it, consider pausing breastfeeding temporarily because the cough suppressant/antihistamine components may affect infants.

🏥 See a doctor first (or stop and seek care) if…

Fever ≥3 days or keeps rebounding, or you have severe chills/dehydration.
Shortness of breath, chest pain, or extreme fatigue, or cough worsens enough to prevent sleep.
No improvement after 5–6 doses, you cannot keep fluids/meds down, or you notice blood-tinged sputum or black stools.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which colds is it especially good for?
Sore, swollen throat + fever. The duo of ibuprofen + tranexamic acid targets throat inflammation and pain.
How is EX Premium different from other “Lulu Attack” variants (e.g., NX/IB)?
EX Premium = throat/fever-focused design, while NX formulas focus more on nasal symptoms. If nose symptoms dominate, try NX; if throat pain/fever dominate, EX Premium is the typical pick.
Can I combine it with other OTCs?
No. Don’t double up with other cold medicines, pain relievers, sedatives, cough/cold combos, antihistamines, or any other product that contains tranexamic acid.
Will it make me drowsy? Is driving okay?
Drowsiness can occur. Avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it.
How long and how often can I take it?
3 times daily after meals. Do not use for more than 5 days. If you don’t feel better after 5–6 doses, seek medical advice.
Is it okay for people under 15?
No — not for under-15s. Consider age-appropriate pediatric options and/or consult a clinician.
What if my stomach hurts while taking it?
Stop for now. If you notice black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, or persistent nausea, seek care promptly. Next time, take it strictly after food and avoid empty stomach use.

📦 Storage & handling

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Don’t transfer to another container; don’t use past the expiry date.

Bottom line: Great for “throat-centric” colds. For 15+ only, take 3 tablets × 3 times/day after meals for up to 5 days. Watch for drowsiness and don’t combine with other cold meds. If it’s not improving, get medical care.
